We are brothers Justin and Daniel King of Kingslea Lofts.
We first started with racing pigeons 16 years ago when we were still kids on our farm in the Eastern Cape. It wasn’t until we moved to Bloemfontein 11 years ago and ended last in our Federation points that we knew we had to improve and improve fast. Since then we have spent a lot of time and effort building a winning family of pigeons that have taken us from last to first in the Bloemfontein Federation.
We started by sourcing the best performing local genetics available. We then obtained a few top performing one-loft pigeons, which when crossed with the old lines took us to a whole new level. Our family of pigeons are selected purely on performance, we have never been one for strains and long pedigrees.
In 2018 we won the BPF Middle Distance points and the BPF Yearling Points and finished a close second (15 points behind) in the Overall Bloemfontein Federation Averages. Additionally we won the BPF All Point Averages by nearly 3000 points.
In 2019 we were crowned Overall Bloemfontein Federation Champions by 301 points. We won the BPF Middle Distance Points, the BPF Long Distance Points, the BPF Yearling Points and the BPF Open Points. Additionally we retained the All Point Averages by more than 5000 points.
